Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea Sign Deal to Advance Gulf of Guinea Gas Pipeline

Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea have signed an agreement to advance the Gulf of Guinea Gas Pipeline project. The project aims to facilitate cross-border natural gas transportation and support economic development in the Gulf of Guinea region.
Under the agreement, the countries will collaborate to form a joint steering committee and sub-committee on gas supply, comprising representatives from both governments and project developers GasInvest and Amitee Global.
“This marks a critical milestone in our shared pursuit of regional energy cooperation, economic development and industrial growth,” stated Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) of Nigeria.
The committees will oversee the incorporation of pipeline companies, gas supply agreements and finalization of international project documentation. Institutional documents will be ratified and deposited with the UN, with both parties committed to transparent execution and full adherence to legal and constitutional procedures.
