NORDEN inks second logistics contract of 2025

By: Ajot

Globally operating shipping company NORDEN has signed a logistics contract in Guinea with Africa Oil Supply (AOS), commencing in early 2026. This marks NORDEN's second major logistics deal of the year, following a May contract in Australia, and expands its footprint in Africa, where it also has a project in Gabon.

The contract involves NORDEN transporting bauxite from the Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée (CBG) jetty in Guinea. The operation will use a transshipment model: Panamax vessels will carry the bauxite to a designated site, where the cargo will be transferred via floating cranes onto larger Capesize vessels for the final voyage to China.

NORDEN's CEO, Jan Rindbo, expressed gratitude for the customer's trust and excitement about expanding the company's services in Africa. The Head of Logistics, William Wallace, highlighted that the agreement allows NORDEN to reduce freight costs for the customer by utilizing more efficient Capesize vessels, which also contributes to lower carbon emissions per ton of cargo transported.

The deal strengthens NORDEN's presence on the continent, where it maintains offices in Abidjan and Libreville and recently expanded to Durban following an acquisition.
