Dubai Launches Pioneering Drone Delivery Service in Nad Al Sheba

In an innovative step to redefine urban logistics, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), in collaboration with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) and operator Keeta Drone, has officially launched a new drone delivery route in the Nad Al Sheba area. This service will enable drones to deliver food orders from restaurants and cafés in the Nad Al Sheba Avenue Mall to local residents, with a designated landing point located at the Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque.

Advancing Smart Transportation and Urban Living

The launch marks a significant milestone in Dubai's strategic initiative to establish itself as a global capital for smart transportation and advanced aerial logistics. His Excellency Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of the DCAA, underscored the city's commitment to embracing technologies that enhance daily life. He stated that by enabling smart delivery corridors, Dubai is actively shaping a sustainable and technology-driven future. He also recognized Keeta Drone for pioneering this technology and expressed anticipation for drone delivery to become an everyday reality across the city.

Expanding the Community Role of Mosques

A distinctive aspect of the project is the strategic selection of the Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque as the delivery hub. His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, explained that this choice reflects a forward-looking vision to extend the role of mosques in sustainable community development. He emphasized that mosques are vital community facilities that should evolve to serve people and keep pace with modern needs. This collaboration embodies Dubai's approach to leveraging technology for public benefit and demonstrates IACAD's commitment to supporting initiatives that bridge religious values with technological advancement.

Scaling Eco-Friendly Logistics Through Partnership

For operator Keeta Drone, the Nad Al Sheba route represents a key expansion of its commercial operations within the UAE. The company currently operates four routes in Dubai Silicon Oasis and is now connecting new residential and commercial zones through fast, contactless, and eco-friendly deliveries. The General Manager of Keeta Drone, Junwei Yang, described the launch as the beginning of a broader expansion across Dubai's communities, aligning with the city's vision for smarter, faster, and greener urban living. Operated under the DCAA's regulatory framework, the project stands as a model for how public-private partnerships can transform urban logistics while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
