Dubai Supreme Council of Energy Advances Clean Energy Goals at 90th Meeting

The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE), chaired by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, held its 90th meeting virtually to advance Dubai’s sustainability and clean energy objectives. The meeting was attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the Vice Chairman of the DSCE, and other council members.

A major highlight was the approval of the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory 2024, which reinforces Dubai’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions. The council also announced the winners of the 2025 Emirates Energy Award, recognizing outstanding regional projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer emphasized Dubai’s dedication to clean energy leadership. He highlighted the goal of achieving 100% clean energy production by 2050, which aligns with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and national initiatives.

The council also approved two regulatory frameworks to strengthen Dubai’s petroleum trade sector. HE Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the DSCE, noted that the new policies prioritize health, safety, and environmental standards while enhancing transparency and compliance.

These decisions underscore Dubai’s ongoing efforts to lead in sustainable development and clean energy innovation.
