Doosan Enerbility wins $88 mil - supply order for Qatar power plant project
Doosan Enerbility, a leading South Korean plant builder, announced on Monday that it has secured a 130 billion won ($88 million) order to supply equipment for a major power plant project in Qatar. The company will provide 430-megawatt-class steam turbines and generators to the Facility E Independent Water and Power Project.
The contract, awarded by Samsung E&A, which is the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the project, is part of a larger initiative to build a 2,400-megawatt combined-cycle gas power plant in the Middle Eastern country.
This represents Doosan Enerbility's second order from Qatar, following a larger 290 billion won deal secured in March. A company official stated that these consecutive wins in Qatar and expanded contracts across the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, are strengthening the firm's position in the global gas-fired power generation market. The official emphasized that the company plans to leverage its product reputation to provide customer-optimized solutions and enhance its competitiveness in securing future orders.
