Arvato builds new 40,000 sqm logistics hub in Türkiye
Arvato has begun construction on a major new logistics facility in Türkiye as the company accelerates its regional expansion strategy.
The 40,000 sqm greenfield site in Çayırova is set to serve fast-growing e-commerce and retail sectors with advanced storage capabilities, sustainable infrastructure and enhanced operational capacity.
The groundbreaking marks Arvato’s 11th operations centre in Türkiye and reflects deepening investment in one of the region’s fastest developing logistics markets. The facility is scheduled to enter full operations in October 2026.
Umur Özkal, Managing Director Türkiye and UAE at Arvato, said “Our new site will significantly enhance Arvato’s storage and operational capacity for e-commerce and retail brands and unlock fresh potential for growth,”
European-standard logistics campus
Designed from the ground up, the site adopts the European Type A Big Box classification, a model applied to modern, high-throughput logistics campuses.
The single-level layout is planned to support speed, scale and automation across all warehouse functions.
Operational processes including inbound handling, sorting, value-added services, inventory management and outbound distribution are being optimised to support brands operating across Türkiye and international markets.
With e-commerce volumes rising and new service requirements emerging, Arvato says the development responds directly to market demand.
Industry analysts note growing interest from global logistics companies in Türkiye as its role in regional trade and supply chain ecosystems continues to strengthen.
High-security storage
The facility has been designed to exceed traditional warehousing standards by delivering fully traceable, monitored handling environments for sensitive product categories.
Advanced security protocols, digital access-control systems and specialised conditioned storage zones will support sectors requiring strict regulatory and quality compliance.
Arvato said the installation will allow its partners to maintain brand integrity, protect valuable inventory and ensure the safe distribution of diverse product ranges.
Özkal said, “Our aim is to manage goods under the most secure and optimal storage conditions possible”.
A people-centred workplace design
The Çayırova operations hub is being developed in alignment with Arvato’s global Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance vision, combining decarbonisation goals with employee wellbeing initiatives.
A rooftop integrated solar system will generate renewable energy to power a significant share of the facility’s daily operations.
Natural resource consumption will be reduced through rainwater harvesting technologies, while high-efficiency lighting and climate control systems are expected to lower overall emissions.
Inside the hub, ergonomic workspaces, modern amenities and social areas are planned to create a comfortable and collaborative environment. Arvato said prioritising staff health, safety and engagement supports long-term productivity.
Operations planned for late 2026
Construction is now under way, with progressive commissioning throughout next year ahead of the planned go-live date in October 2026.
“Through this strategic investment, Arvato aims to contribute to Türkiye’s growing potential as a modern logistics hub while further expanding the value-added services we provide to our business partners” Özkal added.
The company currently operates more than 100 global locations with over 18,000 employees, offering supply chain and e-commerce solutions across consumer products, technology, healthcare, automotive and publishing industries.
