AD Ports Group has partnered with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), a global clean energy leader, to collaborate on the development and delivery of offshore wind projects.

According to the news report by Zawya, under the agreement, the two companies will identify opportunities for AD Ports Group to serve as a key partner and contractor for Masdar’s global offshore wind initiatives.

The partnership will jointly define technical requirements for projects and determine where AD Ports Group can deploy its extensive capabilities, including the provision and fabrication of substations, onshore and offshore logistics solutions, subsea services, and maintenance and operations support, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO of the Maritime & Shipping Cluster at AD Ports Group, said: “Utilising AD Ports Group’s integrated maritime and logistics capabilities, and years of experience in complex projects, we are uniquely positioned to deliver the technical solutions and operational excellence required for Masdar’s large-scale offshore wind projects. Offshore wind is a key pillar of the global energy transition, with turbines located at sea harnessing stronger and more consistent winds to generate reliable high energy yields. Masdar has already developed and operates several landmark projects in Europe, including the 476-megawatt Baltic Eagle project in Germany and the 1.4-gigawatt East Anglia THREE project in the UK, demonstrating the technology’s scalability and viability.

The collaboration aligns with the UAE’s national vision for economic diversification and sustainable development. By leveraging advanced maritime infrastructure, integrated logistics networks, and technical expertise, the partnership aims to set a new benchmark for offshore wind deployment, supporting the UAE’s leadership in the clean energy sector.
