First Quantum Minerals is launching a $1.25 billion expansion of its Kansanshi copper mine in Zambia. The S3 project, funded by a $1 billion gold stream, will build a new processing facility to significantly boost copper production in support of Zambia's national output goals. Running from 2025 to 2029, it will create 900 permanent jobs, improve local social services, and is set to become the major contributor to the company's total output, meeting rising global demand from green technologies....
