Angola is pursuing $4.5 billion to build a rail link to Zambia's copper region, with Italy and the African Development Bank contributing $320 million and $500 million. This project is part of the Lobito Corridor, intended to boost trade in minerals and agriculture, linking Zambia’s copper mines to an existing rail line, with construction expected to start next year. It represents the largest rail development in Zambia since the 1970s. The EU is also considering funding, while US support has been limited, having approved a $553 million loan for the Angolan section that remains undisbursed....
