Mining profits face nature-related threats...

A new Barclays report warns that mining companies could face earnings declines of up to 25% within five years due to nature-related risks. These include transition risks like stricter water pricing, pollution rules, and the expansion of protected areas. In contrast, power companies face a smaller earnings threat (~10%) mainly from physical risks like droughts. Notably, nearly three-quarters of mining assets are in sensitive locations, with copper mines in water-stressed nations being most exposed.
