Ghana’s Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has publicly commended Zijin Golden Ridge Limited for its impactful entry into the country’s mining sector, calling the company an “emerging giant” poised to play a leading role in Ghana and across Africa. Speaking at Zijin’s End-of-Year Appreciation and Partnership Reception in Accra, the minister highlighted the company’s impressive performance within just eight months of operation and assured continued government support for its expansion.

The high-level event was attended by senior officials including the Deputy Minister of the Interior, the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service, the CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, and representatives from the Chinese community in Ghana.

In his address, Zijin Golden Ridge CEO Leon Zhang reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to Ghana, pledging to develop high-quality, responsible mining projects in collaboration with the government and local partners. Zhang cited Ghana’s position as Africa’s largest gold producer and its stable governance as key factors in Zijin’s decision to deepen its investment in the country. He emphasized that the company’s approach is grounded in collaboration, innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility—principles that have underpinned Zijin Mining Group’s global success.

The reception served to acknowledge partnerships established in 2025 and to reinforce Zijin’s ambition to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s mining sector through operational excellence and socio-economic development.
