Zambia approves 200 km power line to connect with DRC

Zambia’s Energy Regulatory Board has approved the construction of the 190-km, 330 kV Kalumbila–Kolwezi interconnector project (KKIP) worth USD270 million.
This will connect the country’s north-western copper mining region with the Democratic Republic of Congo. KKIP is a private project developed by trading company, enterprise power DRC Sàrl (EPDRC), and its subsidiary enterprise power Zambia Limited.
