UAE Backs Historic Nigeria-Morocco Energy Project

The UAE has thrown its weight behind the $25 billion Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline, a game-changing project set to become the world’s longest offshore gas pipeline. Spanning 6,800km and traversing 15 West African countries, the African-Atlantic Gas Pipeline will transport natural gas from Nigeria’s reserves to Morocco and Europe, boosting energy security and regional integration. Morocco’s energy minister confirmed that the required engineering studies are complete, with construction set to unfold in three phases. More than 400 million people stand to benefit from the project through improved electricity access and expanded trade. Backed by major institutions like the UAE, IDB, and OPEC Fund, the project signals growing international confidence in Africa’s infrastructure.
