Tanzania to Launch Construction of Ntorya Gas Pipeline

Construction of a new pipeline connecting Tanzania ’s Ntorya gas field to the Madimba gas processing plant will begin this month, according to oil and gas exploration company Aminex, which holds a 25% non-operated interest in the Ntorya Development Licence.
The pipeline is scheduled for completion and commissioning by July 2026, enabling first gas production from the Ntorya-2 well.
“With a plan to complete the pipeline by July 2026 and expectation of starting a rig tender process very soon, the project is well on its way to producing first gas next year,” said Charles Santos, Executive Chairman, Aminex.
Meanwhile, field operator ARA Petroleum Tanzania has submitted a rig tender strategy to the Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority for approval. The strategy covers the drilling of the Chikumbi-1 well and a workover of Ntorya-1.
Pending regulatory approval, tenders for the rig and associated services are expected to be issued by mid-August 2025.
