Sahara Energy to Add 68,000 Tons of LPG Storage Across Africa
International energy company Sahara Energy has announced plans to add 68,000 metric tons (mt) of LPG storage across Africa in the coming years.
According to Jérôme Espinasse, Head of Trading at Sahara Energy, the company will add 30,000 mt of LPG storage in Kenya, 15,000 mt in Nigeria, 12,000 mt in Ivory Coast, 6,000 mt in Ghana and 5,300 mt in Tanzania.
“Sahara is committed to future proofing Africa’s energy through gas and infrastructure projects to ensure cheaper and cleaner energy is delivered to Africans,” Espinasse stated in Cape Town on April 7.
In addition to LPG storage, Espinasse announced that the company aims to scale its LNG efforts by acquiring LNG vessels and investing in liquefaction trains throughout the continent.
