Repsol Ramps Up Libya Output with New Wells in 2025

Spanish energy firm Repsol has ramped up its oil production in Libya in 2025, driven by the reactivation of 12 wells during the first half of the year and continued drilling activity.
The company plans to bring more wells online in the coming months, which will add a total of 12,000 barrels per day to overall output. Repsol’s net share of this increase is expected to range between 1,500 and 2,000 barrels per day.
To support further development, Repsol has also contracted a second drilling rig to meet remaining exploration commitments, particularly in the Waha area.
Repsol’s projects in Libya produced 307,000 barrels per day in the second quarter of 2025, with the company’s net share reaching 43,000 barrels per day—an increase linked to successful drilling in 2024 and early 2025.
