PIL Vessel Makes Special Cashew Delivery to New Phuoc An Port

The PIL vessel Kota Salam made a special, unscheduled call to Vietnam’s new Phuoc An Port on June 10, delivering a large shipment of cashews from Africa. The ad hoc visit highlights PIL’s commitment to the Vietnamese market and its adaptability in meeting customer demands.
Delivery from Africa to Vietnam
The Kota Salam, which operates on PIL’s South West Africa Service (SWS) route, transported nearly 1,900 TEUs of cashews, totaling 28,000 metric tonnes. The cargo was loaded from several African ports, including those in Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, and Cote d’Ivoire. After a journey of about one month, the cashews arrived in Vietnam to supply both local and regional markets.
Phuoc An Port’s Growing Role
The Phuoc An Port, which was completed in 2024 and is located near Ho Chi Minh City, is the largest and the first eco-friendly port in Dong Nai province. Its development is part of a national push for green port development in Vietnam. By making an ad hoc call to this new port, PIL has demonstrated its agility and commitment to providing new solutions for its customers.
