The development comes as Moroccan companies continues to increase their influence across Africa. 54 Moroccan firms, including 39 private companies, have generated a combined revenue of $55.9 billion in Africa, according to the 2025 Juene Afrique ranking, underscoring the country’s growing economic footprint on the continent.

Morocco’s Akwa Group Launches Oil Storage Project in Senegal
Moroccan energy and petroleum distributor Akwa Group has launched an oil storage facility in Bargny-Sendou, Senegal.
Situated approximately 30 km from Dakar, the project includes natural gas processing and is positioned to enhance Senegal’s energy infrastructure as the country begins oil production from its Sangomar field.
The facility is expected to support regional energy distribution and aligns with Akwa Group’s strategy to expand its presence in West Africa, with existing operations in Ivory Coast and Cameroon.
