Jinko ESS deploys energy storage systems to power 45 remote villages in Senegal
Jinko ESS, a subsidiary of Jinko Solar, has secured a significant order to deploy 15 MWh of its SunGiga energy storage systems in Senegal. The project aims to support off-grid electrification across 45 remote villages, providing stable nighttime electricity to tens of thousands of people and addressing persistent power shortages in rural areas.
The company has delivered a customized solution to suit the challenging conditions of dispersed locations, limited infrastructure, and extreme heat. The SunGiga systems feature a modular, integrated design to simplify transport and installation, alongside an intelligent liquid-cooling system for reliable thermal management in Senegal’s climate.
According to Asif S W, Head of Sales for Jinko ESS in the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia, the deployment reflects the company’s broader strategy to support renewable energy development and grid optimization across the continent through tailored, technology-driven solutions.
