Fortuna Mining Finds New Deposits in Diamba Sud

Canada’s Fortuna Mining has announced drilling results from its Southern Arc prospect at the Diamba Sud Gold Project in Senegal, confirming new deposits.
The company completed 53 of the 152 planned drill holes, intersecting high-grade gold reserves – including 22.7 grams of gold per ton over an estimated true width of 21.6 meters from a downhole depth of 53 meters on DSDD488 drillhole – across several dill holes.
An estimated 3.9 million tons of gold ore containing 194,000 ounces of gold and on average 1.57 grams of gold ore per ton will be added to the project’s existing maiden inferred Mineral Resource estimate.
These results further demonstrate the potential for resource growth at Diamba Sud. The deposit remains open to the south, east, and at depth, with current drilling only extending to approximately 150 meters,” stated Paul Weedon, Senior Vice President of Exploration, Fortuna.
The campaign also confirmed Southern Arc’s geological similarities to other prospects within the Diamba Sud complex. Drilling will commence in September with results expected by the end of the year.
