FLS to supply process technologies for gold project in Ghana
FLSmidth (FLS) has been selected as the strategic technology partner and supplier for all major process technologies for the Black Volta gold project in Ghana, being developed by Azumah Resources Gh Limited. The project, located in West Africa, is noted for its potential to become the first fully Ghanaian-owned gold mine in the country.
The order, valued at approximately DKK 235 million, covers long-lead equipment and associated technical support services. FLS will supply a complete processing flowsheet, including equipment for comminution, classification, and materials handling—such as gyratory and cone crushers, SAG and ball mills, and apron feeders. The package also extends to key downstream systems like cyclones, pumps, thickeners, and refining and detoxification equipment, forming a comprehensive gold processing solution.
Beyond hardware, FLS will provide engineering support to the project's EPC contractor, on-site assistance for erection, commissioning, and training, along with a performance guarantee and lifecycle spare parts supply. Julian Soles, Products Business Line President at FLS, stated that the company's proven ability to deliver a complete, high-productivity flowsheet and its regional lifecycle support were key factors in securing the partnership.
Equipment deliveries are scheduled throughout 2026, aligning with the mine's planned operational start-up in 2027.
