Egypt, Saudi Arabia discuss cooperation in mining sector

Cairo, July 16 (BNA): Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, held discussions with Khalid bin Saleh Al Mudaifer, Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs of Saudi Arabia, to explore prospects for bilateral cooperation in the mining sector and advance sustainable development that supports the economic interests of both countries.
The discussions took place on the sidelines of the Egypt Mining Forum 2025, where Minister Badawi reviewed the significant progress achieved in advancing Egypt’s mining sector.
Minister Badawi also highlighted a number of strategic initiatives, topped by the Phosphoric Acid Project, which exemplifies Egypt’s strategic focus on enhancing value-added production from its mineral resources, according to the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
He commended the Saudi International Mining Conference, also known as the Future Minerals Forum (FMF), organised by Saudi Arabia, and affirmed Egypt’s interest in drawing on Saudi Arabia’s successful experiences in the mining sector.
