DY6 Metals Encounters Mineralization at Malawi, Cameroon Assets

By: Energy capital & power

Australian company DY6 Metals has announced rare earths, phosphate and natural rutile mineralization at its Tundulu Rare Earth Project in Malawi and the Central Rutile Project in Cameroon.

Metallurgical test work on a 120 kg sample at Tundulu confirmed the presence of rare earths as well the potential to produce a high-grade phosphate concentrate for fertilizer production. The campaign also revealed high-grade gallium mineralization.

“We are confident that, with carefully planned follow-up testwork we will be able to further unlock the significant co-product opportunity that exists at Tundulu,” stated Cliff Fitzhenry, CEO of DY6 Metals.

The project included 16 flotation tests and 63 metallurgical samples collected from 37 locations.

Sample testing from the Central Rutile Project confirmed high-grade titanium deposits as well as low levels of chromium, zirconium, aluminum and iron.

The results will guide the firm’s field and lab geochemical analysis and an upcoming exploration campaign.
