Congo Set to Receive New Power Transformer Stations

The Republic of Congo is set to receive transformer stations and electrical equipment to reinforce the power transmission network managed by national utility Energie Électrique du Congo (E²C).
The upcoming delivery includes orders placed by oil major Eni and local firm Pasel, supported by World Bank funding.
“We are working with partners like Eni, who are repairing the Pointe-Noire/Brazzaville line and relying on World Bank funding to support both the line and equipment procurement,” said Emile Ouosso, Minister of Energy and Hydraulics, Congo.
The equipment will be housed in new storage buildings financed by a loan of 1.28 billion CFA francs from the French Development Agency. The buildings were constructed by Congolese firm Central BTP and are designated for storing transformers and spare parts for the Kouilou/Pointe-Noire and Bouenza/Niari electricity regions.
