Aya Gold & Silver Expands Boumadine Operations With New Gold Discovery in Morocco
Aya Gold & Silver Inc. announced new drilling results on Monday that confirm the discovery of a gold deposit in the Asirem Zone, west of the Boumadine Main Trend in the Anti-Atlas mountain range in western Morocco. The company also reported high-grade results from the Main Trend and Tizi Zone, while expanding its regional footprint with the acquisition of two new mining licenses.
“The discovery and new gold zone at Asirem, west of Boumadine’s Main Trend, confirms that Boumadine is evolving into a true district-scale asset with multiple mineralized trends,” Benoit La Salle, President and CEO of the company, said.
“Drilling has traced gold across eight kilometers of strike at Asirem, with geophysics pointing to more than ten kilometers of potential. Along with grab samples grading up to 12.2 g/t gold and 4.1% copper, this new corridor highlights promising exploration opportunities,” La Salle added.
A preliminary economic assessment on the Boumadine Main Trend is scheduled to be released by year-end. He said the results highlight additional mineralized zones and signify the scale and potential of Boumadine as one of Morocco’s most significant emerging precious metals discoveries.
Aya reported that 346 diamond drill holes, 37 reverse circulation holes, and 20 multi-purpose drill holes have been completed so far in 2025 across the Boumadine deposit. Drilling has focused on the Main Trend’s north zones, Tizi, Imariren, and regional targets including Asirem. Results so far confirm the high-grade continuity of the Main Trend, which is open in all directions, and indicate mineralization at Imariren to 1.2 kilometers.
Grab samples at Asirem revealed parallel structures with grades up to 12.2 g/t gold and 4.1% copper. Surface anomalies coincided with a strong N080 geophysical feature. The zone is located within Neoproterozoic rhyolitic tuffs in contact with Cambrian sedimentary schists.
It is cut by quartz, quartz-carbonate, and barite veins that are up to five meters deep. Stockworks with pyrite and chalcopyrite are common, while oxidized phases include malachite, azurite, and chalcocite. The structure extends over more than ten kilometers within Aya’s permits.
The company said a significant upside is to expand the Boumadine Main Trend, which currently runs for 5.4 kilometers, as well as the Tizi and Imariren zones, which extend 2.0 kilometers and 1.2 kilometers respectively. All three are open in every direction.
Aya has mobilized drilling rigs to complete between 100,000 and 140,000 meters of drilling. Half of the program will advance the Main Trend, Tizi, and Imariren toward the preliminary economic assessment. The other half will focus on greenfield exploration and testing new geological targets developed over the past three years.
