Algeria Inaugurates Gas Treatment Center

Mohamed Arkab, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies of Algeria and Rachid Hachichi, CEO, Sonaltrach  have inaugurated the Ain Tsila gas treatment center in Illizi.

Commissioned on August 20, the facility includes two production lines with a total processing capacity of 12 million m³ of gas per day, 1,800 tons of condensates per day and 1,600 tons of liquefied petroleum gas per day. It also integrates a 125 MW power generation unit and 355 km of pipelines.

The officials also inaugurated a new workers’ base in Ain Tsila, offering 220 beds and another in Ain Amenas with a capacity of 126 beds. The Ain Amenas facility includes accommodation, a restaurant, leisure spaces and additional services for pipeline transportation workers.

During the visit, the delegation reviewed operations at the Tin Fouyé Tabenkort production site, which produces 54,000 barrels of crude oil per day and 5.2 million m³ of associated gas, including 2.4 million m³ per day for export. The site features 23 separation centers, four storage and shipping facilities and an associated gas treatment plant.

Arkab and Hachichi also inaugurated the aerodrome of Tin Fouyé Tabenkort. The airport was built to modern standards and is expected to improve transport conditions for workers, partners and operators, while supporting local development.
