Agogo FPSO Receives Operational Readiness Certificate

The Agogo FPSO unit has received a Provisional Operational Readiness Certificate (PORC), kickstarting the vessel’s 15-year charter. The certificate follows the start of production in July 2025 and marks the beginning of the vessel’s lease and operate contract between FPSO developer Yinson Production and the project operator Azule Energy.
Yinson Production signed a deal with Azule Energy in 2023 for the provision, operation and maintenance of the Agogo FPSO.
Situated at Block 15/06, the vessel joins the operational Ngoma FPSO at the project site, increasing the block’s production by 120,000 barrels per day (bpd). The vessel arrived in Angola in May 2025, with mooring hook up achieved in June and first oil in July.
“Achieving first oil for the Agogo FPSO approximately four months ahead of schedule and 29 months after contract award is a truly remarkable milestone,” stated Flemming Guiducci Grønnegaard, CEO, Yinson Production. “As our first asset in Angola, the Agogo FPSO also marks an important expansion of our footprint in Africa and will positively contribute to Angola’s economic growth.”
The Agogo FPSO features emission-reducing technology, automated process controls and all-electric drives – thereby representing the world’s first operating FPSO with carbon capture technology. With the addition of the Agogo FPSO, Block 15/06’s peak production has been revised upwards to 180,000 bpd.
“The vessel’s low carbon footprint – highlighted by its pioneering role as the world’s first operating FPSO with pilot carbon capture technology- demonstrates our commitment to efficient and sustainable operations. The issuance of the PORC is a key milestone, and we are confident in Yinson’s ability to operate and maintain this asset with excellence,” added Adriano Mongini, CEO, Azule Energy.
