Emirates Global Aluminum is seeking equity partners, including Mitsubishi Corp., to fund a $5–6 billion aluminum smelter project in Oklahoma, aimed at producing 750,000 tons annually. The initiative aligns with U.S. efforts to boost domestic production and reduce reliance on aluminum imports, which currently supply about half of the country’s consumption. A major hurdle is securing a competitive long-term power agreement, as electricity represents the largest cost in aluminum production amid growing U.S. energy demand. If finalized, construction would begin in late 2026, with production starting by the end of the decade, marking a significant step in reshoring critical industrial capacity....
