South African copper producer Copper 360, listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange under the ticker CPR, has named Gordon Thompson chief executive officer, effective September 24, as part of a management reshuffle that also brought in a new chief financial officer and chief operating officer, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

Seten Naidoo was appointed chief financial officer in the same reshuffle, while Andre Basson was named chief operating officer. Thompson previously served as Copper 360's chief operating officer, a post he took on after joining the company in June 2023. Naidoo took on the role of chief risk officer at Copper 360 in 2025 and had been acting as interim chief financial officer since June 2026, before being confirmed in the permanent post. Basson is a mining engineer trained at Gold Fields with 33 years of industry experience, including work in Namaqualand's copper operations and in platinum mining, the company said.

Copper 360 said its board completed fit-and-proper assessments for Thompson and Naidoo ahead of finalizing the appointments. The company's audit and risk committee said it had confirmed that Naidoo has "the competence, qualifications, expertise and experience required to serve" as chief financial officer.

Thompson, a professional certificated engineer, has more than 25 years of experience spanning mine development, plant construction, commissioning and day-to-day operations on the African continent, the company said.

Copper 360 also said its board approved changes to committee composition and other structural adjustments, effective September 25, following a governance review. The company did not disclose further detail on the scope of that review or identify which board committees were affected.

The changes bring a leadership team with combined backgrounds in mine operations, financial markets and mining engineering into Copper 360's top posts. The company did not disclose any additional financial or operational guidance alongside the appointments.
