Kenyan clearing agents have indefinitely suspended cargo operations to South Sudan over inconsistent levy charges imposed by South Sudanese authorities. The agents cited delays, excessive fees, and conflicting directives about where levies should be collected, leading to inflated costs of goods, including essentials like food and medical supplies. Trucks carrying cargo are now stuck at Mombasa port due to unresolved payment issues, with agents refusing to pay $3,000 per shipment. The agents are urging both the South Sudanese and Kenyan governments to resolve the dispute to prevent further supply chain disruptions....
