dnata logistics and Trade Tech unite to streamline UAE MPCI compliance

As the UAE introduces new MPCI regulations, dnata logistics and Trade Tech are partnering to ensure freight forwarders can meet the country's 24-hour cargo data submission requirements
As the UAE rolls out new MPCI regulations, dnata logistics and Trade Tech have joined forces to ensure compliance for freight forwarders.
As the UAE rolls out new Maritime Preload Cargo Information (MPCI) regulations to strengthen trade security and cargo transparency, dnata logistics and Trade Tech have joined forces to ensure compliance for freight forwarders and WACO network members operating in the country.
The partnership brings together dnata logistics’ on-the-ground expertise as the UAE member of the WACO System and Trade Tech’s cloud-based global logistics platform.
New UAE trade rules
Together, the companies will facilitate the mandatory electronic filing of containerised cargo data required under the new MPCI programme, which mandates submission at least 24 hours before loading at the port of origin.
The initiative represents a significant step for the UAE in aligning with international trade security protocols, mirroring similar systems implemented in the United States, the European Union, and Japan.
By requiring advance data submission, the MPCI programme enhances visibility and enables authorities to identify potential risks earlier in the supply chain.
Local expertise and digital efficiency
Mark Simon, Commercial Director at dnata logistics, emphasised the importance of local knowledge and digital readiness in meeting the new standards.
“dnata logistics’ role as the UAE member for WACO highlights the importance of trusted local expertise to navigate evolving regulatory landscapes,” he said. “Our partnership with Trade Tech enables us to offer our clients, including WACO members, a streamlined platform that simplifies MPCI filings and ensures compliance.”
Trade Tech’s cloud-based platform provides a single, secure interface for freight forwarders and logistics providers to manage documentation, monitor shipments, and ensure regulatory accuracy.
The system’s multi-tenant architecture allows for real-time collaboration between partners while minimising human error and administrative burden.
Driving visibility and collaboration
“Compliance with MPCI is non-negotiable for importers and freight forwarders,” said Bryn Heimbeck, President and Co-Founder of Trade Tech.
“Trade Tech is committed to supporting industry partners like dnata logistics and WACO with reliable solutions that make filing easier and more accurate. Each new 24-hour regulation highlights the growing need for visibility across the supply chain. As data remains difficult to access from origin, the industry should view these compliance programs as an opportunity to improve transparency and efficiency.”
Richard Charles, CEO of WACO, described the collaboration as a natural extension of the network’s mission.
“Collaboration is at the core of WACO’s success. Our network connects companies, allowing them to leverage their strengths and share their expert knowledge to support their growth and that of other members. This is an excellent example of WACO in action.”
The partnership underscores how digital transformation and strategic collaboration are reshaping global freight operations. As the UAE-based entity remains legally liable for MPCI filings, the initiative by dnata logistics and Trade Tech provides forwarders and importers with the confidence to comply while maintaining efficient cargo flows.
