Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, has revealed that government officials responsible for combating illegal mining in Ghana are instead involved in obtaining mining licenses. He highlighted cases of two local government officials, including the DCE for Mpohor, Ignatius Asaah Mensah, and the MCE for Amenfi East, Frederick Korankye, who secured gold mining licenses for operations within their jurisdictions.
