Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, has revealed that government officials responsible for combating illegal mining in Ghana are instead involved in obtaining mining licenses. He highlighted cases of two local government officials, including the DCE for Mpohor, Ignatius Asaah Mensah, and the MCE for Amenfi East, Frederick Korankye, who secured gold mining licenses for operations within their jurisdictions. Ablakwa criticized the government's lack of action against illegal mining and urged Organized Labour to remain firm in their stance against the practice....
