QatarEnergy has awarded a landmark $4 billion contract to China’s COOEC for the redevelopment of the Bul Hanine offshore oil field, marking the largest such contract for a Chinese company in the Middle East's offshore sector. The project aims to extend the field’s operational life and double its production through the installation of new structures, submarine cables, and facility upgrades. COOEC has described the project as a significant achievement under China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The company is also concurrently involved in the production expansion of QatarEnergy’s Al-Shaheen field....
