AJEX to expand GCC presence with new Bahrain logistics facility

AJEX Logistics Services, a leading provider of express distribution and shipping solutions in the Middle East, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Bahrain Airport to establish a state-of-the-art logistics facility at Bahrain Cargo Village.
The agreement, formalised during the Bahrain International Airshow, reinforces AJEX’s commitment to expanding its GCC presence and supporting the region’s growing trade activities.
Bahrain’s trade activity continues to rise, with non-oil imports increasing by 3% to BD1,443 million in Q3 2024 compared to Q3 2023.
Non-oil exports also grew by 1% to BD949 million during the same period.
Bahrain International Airport handled 31,938 tons of cargo in September 2024 alone, underscoring its role as a critical trade hub in the region. AJEX’s facility will leverage this robust trade environment to meet increasing demand.
Naser Alateeq, Gateways & Network Operations Development Director at AJEX, said, “A new facility at Bahrain Cargo Village would enable AJEX to meet the growing demands of the e-commerce and industrial sectors in Bahrain and the broader MENA region, ensuring seamless and reliable logistics services for our customers.”
Driving innovation and growth in logistics
The planned facility at Bahrain Cargo Village will enhance AJEX’s operational capabilities, ensuring swift and reliable deliveries to support businesses across the Middle East.
It aligns with AJEX’s vision of fostering seamless trade and providing scalable logistics solutions in an increasingly competitive market.
