Tripoli will host the fourth edition of the Libya Energy & Economy Summit from January 24 to 26, 2026. The three-day event will bring together government policymakers, oil companies, financial institutions, and technology providers with the aim of boosting investment and stimulating energy sector growth in Libya.

This marks the first major industry gathering following the launching of the 2025 licensing round — the first in 17 years — which includes 22 onshore and offshore exploration blocks. Libya currently has 167 active contractual blocks, with a reported exploration success rate of 33%.

The Ministry of Oil and the National Oil Corporation (NOC) are supporting the Libya Energy & Economy Summit as part of ongoing efforts to double oil production to 2 million barrels per day in the coming years. The fourth edition of the Energy Investment Expo & Conference 2026 will highlight sector investment opportunities, particularly in natural gas development and infrastructure. The role of the private sector — both domestic and international — will be a key focus of discussions.

As part of the licensing round, the NOC held a roadshow for international investors in Istanbul on Thursday. The event was attended by the Minister of Oil and Gas of the Government of National Unity, Khalifa Abdulsadiq, and NOC Chairman Masoud Suleiman.

The Istanbul meeting follows similar roadshows in Houston and London, with the round initially announced in Tripoli on March 3. In his remarks, Abdulsadiq emphasized Libya’s strategic location near major economic hubs such as Europe, in addition to several emerging markets. He noted that Libya holds the largest proven oil and gas reserves on the African continent.

He also stressed that stability has returned to Libya, making it a promising environment for investors and opening the door for exploration activities. “From Istanbul, I extend an open invitation to invest in Libya and help realize our vision for the oil and gas sector,” he said.

The tender process is scheduled for November 15, with contracts to be signed between November 22 and 30.
