Mozambique strengthens regional energy ties with Zimbabwe and Zambia
Mozambique’s Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy has signed two memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with Zimbabwe and Zambia.
The agreements, formalised during the 11th Mining and Energy Conference in Maputo, aim to strengthen the Southern Africa’s energy integration, industrialisation, and sustainable development, aligning with the core objectives of Southern African Development Community.
The MoU with Zimbabwe focuses on deepening collaboration in electricity generation, transmission, and fuel trade, along with joint infrastructure development to support the country’s industrial and energy demands. The MoU signed with Zambia focuses on the development of a gas pipeline between the two countries.
