Dots Connected as Etango exploration extends

By: mining.com

Connected Minerals is planning its next stage of exploration at the Etango North-East Project in Namibia following the return of phase two drilling results.

The company targeted the Ondapanda prospect for 3,134m of drilling across 23 holes in phase two, returning economical grades of uranium from 17 holes.

Along with phase one of drilling completed earlier in the year, Connected says both programs indicate multiple, stacked and mineralised alaskites, which is prospective to similar geology as Bannerman Energy’s (ASX:BMN) Etango Uranium Project.

Bannerman’s Etango holds a resource of 429 million tonnes @ 225ppm uranium trioxide.

CEO Warrick Clent says over 80% of holes drilled in both phase one and two returned economic uranium grades.

“What is of note from the phase two results is the shallow nature of the higher grades reported, with a number of the holes (0038, 0035, and 0024) returning multiple high grade significant intersections,” Clent says.

“The grades in the central zone of the Ondapanda prospect are impressive, and the more recent drilling in the western portion has outlined mineralisation that will require follow-up in future programs.”
