In Côte d'Ivoire, mining companies can now submit and track title applications online via the new "e-cadastre minier Côte d’Ivoire" platform. The government launched the platform on September 22, aligning the country with Africa's digital mining cadastre trend. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Botswana, Togo, Zambia, Senegal, and more recently Chad have already adopted similar systems.

Like many of these states, Côte d'Ivoire engaged South African company Spatial Dimension. Its Landfolio portal has become a continental benchmark, enabling fully digitized management of the entire mining permit and authorization issuance chain. Over 200 mining administration agents have received training to operate the system. Mines Minister Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly stated, "This constitutes a lever to make the country the reference in Africa for responsible management of extractive resources in the next decade."

Ivorian Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, present at the launch ceremony, affirmed, "The e-cadastre minier Côte d’Ivoire portal is part of these reforms aiming to strengthen Ivory Coast's mining attractiveness, ensure increased compliance with the requirements of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative [EITI], and expedite the management of mining operations."

Beyond dematerialized mining cadastres, several African countries are also working to digitize their entire mining data sets. This facilitates access for mining investors. For example, the DRC concluded an agreement in July 2025 with KoBold Metals to develop a system for managing and valuing its geological data. The same company supported Zambia, which launched its first Geological Survey Department Digital Store in mid-September 2025. This platform compiles decades of geological publications and datasets into a secure, accessible digital format.
