Copper 360 confirms board changes
The board says it has conducted a fit-and-proper assessment of both, and is satisfied with the outcome thereof.
Further, Graham Briggs and Stephan du Plessis have resigned as directors, effective March 2.
The board expressed its appreciation for the significant contributions made by both.
On February 6, Copper 360 reported that, as part of an ongoing reorganisation post recapitalisation of the business, Briggs and Du Plessis had taken a leave of absence with immediate effect.
The company announced the appointment of Thompson as transitional CEO and Naidoo as transitional commercial executive with immediate effect.
Thompson is a professional certificated engineer and seasoned mining executive with over 25 years of experience in mine development, construction, commissioning and operations across Africa.
He has successfully built and commissioned multiple mines and processing plants and has held senior executive and board roles in JSE-, ASX- and LSE-listed companies, the company highlighted.
Thompson joined the company in June 2023 and is currently the COO, and was indicated to bring deep operational, governance and capital markets experience to the transitional role.
Naidoo has 17 years of experience in the resources sector across strategy, asset management, equity research and stakeholder engagement.
He has worked closely with executive and operational teams to drive commercial performance and continuity across the business.
Naidoo was chief risk officer of the company at the time of the February announcement, and is said to bring deep experience in commercial strategy, capital markets and operational support to the transitional role.
