The signing ceremony took place on October 9, 2025, and was presided over by HE Peng PoNea, Cambodia’s Minister of Public Works and Transport, alongside Ms. ÜLKÜ KOCAEFE, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey.

During the ceremony, Minister Peng emphasized the importance of the MoU, highlighting the corridor as a crucial link for ASEAN countries. He noted that this partnership will facilitate the movement of goods and traffic not only within Asia but also to the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean region.

As a prominent ASEAN member, Cambodia is strategically positioned for trade and investment. Minister Peng reaffirmed the country’s commitment to fostering trade and investment in the region, particularly through enhancements in transport and logistics infrastructure.

The newly signed MoU seeks to promote friendly relations between Cambodia and Turkey, paving the way for increased cooperation along the Central Corridor and TRACECA Corridor. The aim is to transform both nations into logistics hubs for their respective regions, with Cambodia poised to become a Logistics Hub for ASEAN, while Turkey aspires to be an Economic Hub connecting East Asia and Europe.

This collaboration marks an exciting chapter in international transport and logistics, setting the stage for enhanced economic opportunities and partnerships between the two nations.
