Angola to launch digital mining register at AIMC 2025

Angola is set to unveil its first-ever digital mining register at the Angola International Mining Conference (AIMC 2025) next week, marking a major milestone in the country’s drive to modernise its mineral sector and attract global investment.
The two-day event, scheduled for 22–23 October in Luanda, will bring together over 500 delegates and 70 high-profile speakers to spotlight Angola’s transformation into a premier mining destination.
Organised by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas in partnership with Sankofa Advisory Group, VUKA Group and Bumbar Mining, AIMC 2025 will serve as a strategic platform for showcasing Angola’s vast geological potential and its commitment to industrialisation, innovation and governance reform.
Held under the theme “Driving Investment, Innovation and Industrialisation in Angola’s Mining Sector,” the conference will feature sessions on financing strategies, regulatory frameworks, sustainable logistics and community engagement.
The launch of the digital mining register is expected to enhance transparency, streamline investor access to geological data and reinforce Angola’s reputation as a stable and reform-driven economy.
“The opportunities are vast, the framework is in place, and global partnerships are ready to accelerate Angola’s growth trajectory,” Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas Minister Diamantino Pedro Azevedo said. “We are entering a new era of transformation.”
President João Lourenço will headline the event alongside global industry leaders including Feriel Zerouki of the World Diamond Council, Tim George of Pensana Plc and Ken Tainton of Rio Tinto.
Other speakers include António Pedro, former UNECA Executive Secretary, and Verónica Bolton Smith of Critical Minerals Africa Group.
Leading operators such as CATOCA, ENDIAMA, SODIAM, Ivanhoe Mines, Rio Tinto, De Beers, and Sonangol will also participate, underscoring Angola’s growing influence in the global mining landscape.
