Angola and Vietnam signed several agreements on Thursday, August 7, 2025, to strengthen their bilateral cooperation. The signing took place during the official visit of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. The legal instruments aim to deepen and expand relations between the two countries in various sectors, including justice, agriculture, defense, media, and energy.

The signed texts include a memorandum of understanding between the countries' prosecutors' offices, an action plan for the agricultural sector, and a protocol on oil and gas cooperation. They also signed agreements on the transfer of incarcerated individuals and mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.

A separate agreement links the two defense ministries to promote military cooperation, particularly for veterans. The public television networks of both nations also signed a memorandum to foster exchanges in the information and communication sector.

Angola and Vietnam have maintained diplomatic and economic cooperation since 1975. According to data from the International Trade Center’s Trade Map, trade between the two countries reached $260 million in 2024. This included $240 million in Angolan exports and $20.4 million in Angolan imports.
