Zimplats breaks ground on 45MW solar power plant...

Zimplats has begun constructing a US$54 million, 45 MW solar plant, advancing its drive for energy independence. Scheduled for completion in the first half of 2027, the project will raise the company's total solar capacity to 80 MW. Being built by Distributed Power Africa, the plant will power mining and refining operations, with excess energy fed into the national grid. This initiative is a key part of Zimplats' broader strategy to deploy 185 MW of solar power, aiming to reduce emissions and stabilise its energy supply....
