The two holes reported are the first of a 12-hole programme drilled below and beyond the openpit mineral resource.

The first two holes drilled below the BBM openpit intersected strong gold mineralisation, confirming the deposit continues at depth.

Results include 7 m at 7.21 g/t gold equivalent from 385 m downhole, including 1 m at 43.68 g/t gold equivalent, the highest grade drilled to date at BBM (BBDD-31); and 46 m at 2.35 g/t gold equivalent from 364 m downhole, including 17 m at 3.41 g/t gold equivalent (BBDD-30).

The programme follows BBM’s high-grade core, which is interpreted to have a steeper plunge, to an initial vertical depth of 600 m below surface.

Assays for the remaining ten holes are pending.

“BBM is delivering. The first holes below the openpit hit where we expected and returned the highest gold grade drilled at the deposit to date. This tells us the high-grade core continues at depth and reinforces our belief that the system has more to give.

“There is a lot happening at Odienné and we expect to follow shortly with a separate update on Charger and our 100%-owned exploration ground, including first drilling at Seydou and follow-up at the Fremen discovery,” he adds.
