Sudan's gold production for 2025 reached 70 tons, surpassing the official target by 13%, generating public revenues of approximately $1.8 billion. The country heavily depends on gold exports for foreign currency, with the sector contributing significantly to non-oil exports. Despite the ongoing conflict since April 2023, which caused production to drop sharply in the early months of the war, output rebounded strongly to 64 tons in 2024 and continued to grow in 2025. The Minister of Minerals has called for increased efforts in 2026 to further develop the mining sector....
